Finding an online teacher
Searching for an online teacher is easy. Choosing one is the difficult part. Which one is right for you? Are they good? Will they deliver what they promised to give you? It can be a bit of a nightmare finding one, but here are some tips that might help you:
1) Look for teachers from reputable schools and websites
2) Make sure to look at their reviews to see if their former students were happy with them.
3) Don’t just go for the cheapest option — sometimes the golden rule is true and you get what you pay for.
4) However, the opposite is also true. Just because the school is expensive doesn’t mean they are the best. Again, look at their reviews and make up your own mind.
5) See if they have any videos of their classes to see if you like the way they conduct their classes.
6) Or, if they don’t have any videos, ask if they can give you a quick demonstration of a class to see if you like it.
What equipment do i need?
For an online class, it is essential that you have a very good internet connection, a good set of headphones (old school overhead headphones offer the best sound for this kind of class, but in-ear earphones or airpods will do fine if that is your only option) and a good microphone (it is best to use a microphone attached to your headset instead of using the inbuilt microphone in your computer or laptop as these are usually of a lower quality and will make it hard for the teacher to hear you).

Should i go with a school or a private teacher?
That is really up to you, but usually a school will have better infrastructure setup and will offer a better online experience than a private teacher and sometimes a private teacher may end up being more expensive.
At the Callan School Barcelona we have an Online Academy section alongside our physical classrooms which provide the same level of instruction as our normal classes.
