The beaches, the parks and the climate are some of the features that we take into account when we weigh up and determine the quality of life in a city, not only for locals but also for all those who visit it.
Barcelona is an exceptional and highly attractive city for many reasons. One of its greatest attractions is the wide range of cultural highlights it offers. If we add to this its excellent location – close to the border between the Iberian peninsula and the rest of Europe and very well connected – it is not surprising that more and more newcomers are choosing this location to establish start-ups in the city and also to decide to learn Spanish.
Being able to socialize on the street all year round, thanks to the great climate, enables you to meet and get to know the people of Barcelona in lots of different situations and at any time of the day. This feature is highly appreciated by all the people who come to visit or live in our city. However, Spanish speakers are “famous” for “speaking very fast” among ourselves: on average at least 8-9 syllables per minute. In fact, only the Japanese surpass us according to a study published in the journal Scientific Advances in 2019. We are sure that this fact can easily be confirmed by the many tourists who visit us every year!
This “speed” is an inconvenience for some when learning Spanish, and it is precisely for this reason that at Callan School Barcelona we teach our students how to speak Spanish at native speed from the first class, thanks to our Callan Method.
